SECTION –1: INTRODUCTION
The renowned pundits Late Pramathanath Adhikary & Upendranath Goswami established a Sanskrit Punthisala at Fului, Po. Badangamj during early 1944, where they started interpretation of Traditional Sanskrit Shastras etc.
After their renunciation, next generation Pt. Balaram Adhikary Matric, Kavya Vyakarana PuranTirtha renovate it as Krishnaganj Debabani Mandir revived it at Krishnaganj, PO,Badanganj with the generous help of Late Akalanka Mandal , Madhabmohan Adhikary & others. This institution was established with the main objectives of preserving Shastric tradition, interpreting Shastras, and achieving excellence mainly in the disciplines of Sanskrit Shastras.
A Society under the name of Krishnaganj Debabani Mandir was registered with Pt. Balaram Adhikary as its Founder-President and Madhabmohan Adhikary as its Founder-Secretary. The inspiration and guidance of late Akalanka Mondal had been the impetus for the development of the Krishnaganj Debabani Mandir. Madhabmohan Adhikary took initiation that the Debabani Mandir should develop as recognized Tol for Sanskrit Studies by the Vangiya Sanskrit Siksha Parisad (Govt of WB).
During the process of such iniciation, Dr. Santi Mukherjee became the next President of the Krishnaganj Debabani Mandir in 1971. On 25.3.1976 by the utmost effort of Dr.Madhabmohan Adhikary the Krishnaganj Debabani Mandir was affiliated by the VSSP(Govt. of WB) by a Lt. no 2322/M-48, Dt. 25.3.1976 with a retrospective effect on from 25.12.1974, and then onwards it came to be known as “Krishnaganj Debabani Mandir” Tol. A Sanskrit Adhayapak- DA sanctioned on form March/1975 by another Memo no. 2083/Gr.17,Kol,Dt.23.3.1976. For the good wishes of former Chief Minister of West Bengal Prafulla Chandra Sen in 1976 onward it became a Central Govt aided Tol also.  As such, the institution has a history of 68 years including a period of 36 years as a Recognized Tol of Govt. of WB.
It is a matter of pride that this institution has a unique opportunity of having later the blessings of Late Bemala Debi, nice of Sri Sri Sarada Ma of Joyrambati, Bankura & association of Padya-Sree Prof. Late Ramaranjan Mukherjee’s guidance of Kolkata.
The Tol spreads over on its own 7 Satak of land at Krishnaganj & 15 satak of land at Fului of Badanganj-Fului (I) Gram Panchayet area, Dt.Hooghly.
